Herbert F. Maier

Herb is survived by his loving wife of nearly 40 years, Becky, who was also his devoted caregiver along with his daughter, Melanie; his father-in-law Daniel Dowling; brother-in-law Randy Dowling (Sarah), and their family; sister Hannah Draehn (Lee); younger brother Harold Maier (Trudy), and their families. Also left behind to cherish Herb’s memory, is his best friend and partner in crime, Bob Martin (Dusty), and a host of very special long-time friends and loved ones.

Herb was a 1966 graduate of Reagan High School, after which he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Upon his Honorable Discharge, Herb went to work for Camco, where he spent his career and retired from Camco/Schlumberger after a 40-year career as a Gas Lift Engineer. Herb solved problems and taught classes around the world, where he was known as the Gas Lift Guru, or often more affectionately referred to as a “Crusty Old Fart” by his young students. After his retirement, Herb continued to work for Baker Oil Tools and Superior Energy.
