Ina Mae (Moyers) Nash, age 95, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025. She was born on September 25, 1929, in Oakhurst, Texas, to Leon and Rritty Moyers, who preceded her in death. Ina was also preceded in passing by her grandson, Fred Nash IV, and her beloved sisters, Sue Peeples and Mary Lou Schaffer. She was married to the late Fred Nash Jr., with whom she shared 57 wonderful years.
A proud graduate of John Reagan High School in Houston, Texas, Ina excelled in her studies and graduated in 1948. She continued her education at Stephen F. Austin State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education with high honors, followed by a Master of Education. Ina also obtained certifications in supervision, counseling, and special education. Her passion for education led her to serve as a counselor for the Kilgore Independent School District, where she touched the lives of countless students through her dedication and compassion. Ina loved spending time with family, friends, her animals, staying active at the YMCA with her sister Sue, caring for her flowers, and attending services at Bear Creek Baptist Church.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Fred Nash III, and his wife, Lynn Nash, as well as her daughter, Linda Nash Dreessen. Ina was a proud grandmother to Zoë Nash (Alam Zia), Natalie Dreessen Buck (Ryan Buck), Angie Dreessen, and Jason Dreessen (Alexis Dreessen). She also held a special place in her heart for her seven great-grandchildren.
Ina Mae Nash will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and guidance to everyone around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
The family wishes a special thank you to Eagle’s Trace Independent Living, the Care Team of hospice, and the staff at Bayou Vista for their dedication and care of our mother and grandmother.
