Ismael Mijares

Ismael Mijares, age 93, passed away on October 19th peacefully at home.

Ismael is survived by his wife of 71 years, Catalina Mijares. He is survived by his children Linda Rodriguez, Eddie Mijares, and Livia Mijares; three grandchildren, Adam Rodriguez, Aaron Rodriguez, and Kelly Mijares; 5 great-grandchildren, Reece Rodriguez, Sarah Rodriguez, Jacob Rodriguez, Eliana Rodriguez, and Emma Rodriguez; as well as nieces, nephews, and family.

Ismael graduated from Mathis High School in 1947; and took pride in serving in the US Air Force from August 1947 through August 1951. Ismael retired in 1984 after 35 years of dedicated service to the Department of the Army and Corpus Christi Army Depot. After retirement Ismael received his Master Electrician Certification; he continued this work for the communities of Corpus Christi, Texas and Humble, Texas through 2019.

A mass of Christian Burial will be Monday November 6, at 11am at Christ the Redeemer Church, 11507 Huffmeister Rd., Houston, Texas 77065. The inturnment with Air Force honors will follow at 1:30pm at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
