J.C. WINFREY, 83, passed through the gates of Heaven, Monday, August 9, 2010. He was a Master Chemist and worked for Southern Petroleum Laboratories for 20 years. He proudly served in the United States Navy for two years. Mr. Winfrey was also a devoted member of St. Stephen's United Methodist Church for 40 years. J.C. Winfrey was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Leona, and two sisters, Bettye Marrs and Charlene Smiddy.He is survived by daughter, Brenda Raby and husband, Don; three grandchildren, Jennifer Stearns and husband, Kevin, Jason Raby, and John Raby; nieces, Rhonda, Vicki, and Gail, and nephews, Richard, John, and Jim. Visitation will be Friday, August 13, 2010 from 6-8 pm at Pat H. Foley & Co., 1200 W. 34th Street, Houston, Texas. Services for Mr. Winfrey will be Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 1 pm at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, 2003 W. 43rd Street, Houston, Texas. Reverend Cramer Johnson will be officiating.
