Jacob “Jack” Egbert Hubee of Houston, Texas passed away on Sunday October 5, 2014. He was born on July 17, 1927 in Amsterdam Netherlands. Jack studied Bulk Material Handling Engineering in the Netherlands. He survived World War II in Holland and helped the underground. Jack would walk for miles and miles to all the farms to gather and bring back food for the underground. After the war, he traveled throughout Europe on his motorcycle with his best friends. In the early 1960’s, Hewitt-Robins brought him to the United States. Later he worked for Soros until a good friend brought him to Alabama for a job with Continental Conveyer. He moved from there to Houston with Orba, a sister city company of Litwin, until he retired. He subsequently became a U.S. citizen. Jack enjoyed much success in his career and made lifelong friends along the way. He became a member of the Holland Club, where he met his wife, Martina. They were joined in marriage in June 1993 and recently celebrated their 21st anniversary. Jack and Martina traveled the world together and made many memories on their trips together. Martina and Jack had a real life together. And he was quite the food connoisseur. He enjoyed studying and discussing world history with friends and family. He loved explaining things to his grandchildren. They would have some great conversations over WW histories, and the stars.
