

Jacqueline Josephine Voltin Anderson, of Houston, passed away on Monday, the 23rd of December 2013, in Austin, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s and complications. Jacqueline (known as Jacque) was born in Tyler, Texas on the 31st of January 1930. Jacqueline married George N. Anderson, Jr. “Andy” on the 20th of June 1953. Jacque and Andy (employed by Humble Oil) lived all over Texas and Louisiana as Andy would be relocated frequently. Once they settled in Houston, they first lived in Westbury and then Sharpstown. They last lived at Westbrae Court Retirement Center for over ten years. Jacqueline and Andy Anderson attended St. Frances de Sales Catholic Church and St. Albert’s Church.
Jacqueline attended Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas. She studied art in San Antonio at Francois DeBroullet’s Littlehouse School of Art. She worked at Goodfriend’s Specialty Store in Austin. Then she worked at Sakowitz Department Store in Houston, as a Fashion Coordinator, Commercial Artist, and Display Designer.
Jacqueline was an accomplished painter of still-life images. She was a devoted wife to Andy, a loving sister to her sister Paula Jane “Janie’, a devoted aunt to her six nieces and one nephew, and a devoted daughter to her parents as they lived with her in their older years. She had an amazing sense of humor and playfulness. She liked to wink, tease, and be silly. She liked to cook, read, and play games.
Jacqueline Anderson is predeceased by her husband, George N Anderson, Jr. “Andy”; mother, Tecla J Voltin and father, Edward J Voltin; sister, Paula Jane “Janie” Sansom. She is survived by two nieces on the Anderson side: Peggy Ford and Susan Pothoff. She is survived on her sister Paula Jane’s side by: Corby Sandberg, Lisa Hill, Richard Sansom, Kirsten Sansom, and Casey Owen.
A Mass of Christian Burial is to be offered at eleven o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 31st of December, at St. Albert of Trapani Catholic Church, 11027 South Gessner Drive in Houston, where the Rev. Vincent Tran, Pastor, is to serve as the celebrant.
The Rite of Committal is to follow, via an escorted cortege, at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston.
