James Edward Ellett, 86, died June 25, 2018 in Houston, Texas. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Shirley Cardenas Ellett, his wife of 61 years. He is survived by his daughters Janice Knott (Steve) and Darlene Mataway (Tom). Four grandchildren, Phillip Mataway (Ashlee), Michael Knott, Sarah Mataway and Frank Knott. Two great grandchildren, Makenzie and Jacob Mataway and numerous nieces and nephews. He was known as Buddy to his side of the family but his favorite name was Pa.
He was a long-time member of St John United Church and Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (TSPS). He loved hunting and fishing and passed that down to his sons-in-law and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank The Cottage of Spring Branch and Compassus and Crossroads Hospice for the care they gave him and his family.
A visitation for James will be held Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Friday, June 29, 2018 at 2:00 PM. A committal service will occur Friday, June 29, 2018 at 3:00 PM.
