James “Jim” LeRoy Higgins, age 78, of Katy, TX, passed away on July 2, 2025. A beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Jim touched the lives of many with his words of advice, love, mentorship and giving heart.
Born on January 15, 1947, in St. Louis, MO, Jim rose from humble beginnings to become a successful business owner for over three decades. With just one phone, one telephone book, and a dream, he built a recruiting firm that still stands today, now run by his son Jimmy.
Beyond his professional life, Jim had a passion for poker, enjoying trips to Vegas and friendly games with his neighbors. He was also dedicated to fitness, working out for 2-3 hours a day, 4-5 days a week, driven by a desire to live forever. When not working out or playing poker, Jim spent his free time with his “Bestis” granddaughter, Haley, catching up on recorded tv shows & researching his genealogy.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Orville Higgins and Ruby Ardale Higgins; his brother, Ron; and his son, Mike. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sharon Higgins; his four children, John, Missy, Jimmy, and Brandon; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
