James "Jim" Raleigh Goad, Jr., passed away Friday, January 14, 2011. He was born November 20, 1950 in Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX. Jim was a pipeline mapper, checker, and draftsman. He was the head cook of the Cactus Pitt BBQ Teams and participated in the HLSR Cookoff. Being a military "brat", Jim lived in several states as well was several countries in Europe.
Jim enjoyed snow and water skiing, fishing, snorkeling and traveling. He also enjoyed a good time and making people laugh. He was also former chairman of the yard of the month and ACC committees for Parkway West HOA.
Jim was preceded in death by his father USAF, Col. James Raleigh Goad Sr. and mother Mary Lou Goad (Graves).
Jim is survived by his wife Linda who he married on January 11, 2002 in Katy, TX. Jim is also survived by his daughter Cynthia, grandson Nolan, sister Mary Lorayne, brother Roger Alan, Uncle Julian and Aunt Helen.
There will be a Celebration of Jim's Life on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024.
