

Born on November 27th, 1948, in La Salle, Jim was a proud graduate of LaSalle-Peru Township High School and LPO Junior College (now Illinois Valley Community College). He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E.) from the University of Illinois and obtained his Professional Engineering license.
Jim honorably served six years in the United States Marine Corps Reserves as a helicopter gunner. He carried the discipline and sense of duty from his service into his professional life.
A dedicated mechanical engineer, Jim devoted over 30 years of his career to Fluor Corporation, specializing in fired heaters and exchange systems. His work ensured the safe processing of noxious gases, protecting both the environment and the communities surrounding industrial facilities. Known for his integrity, he never hesitated to speak up when safety or quality was at stake.
Jim is survived by his wife, Holly; his son, Joe; his brother, Mike Miglio and wife, Lori; and his sister, Mary Stachowicz and husband, Joe. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rick Miglio; his father, Francis Miglio; and his mother, Dorothy Miglio.In addition to his professional achievements, he will be remembered for his steadfast principles, his deep devotion to family, and his courage in standing up for what he believed was right.
Funeral services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home – Cypress Creek, located at 9149 Hwy 6 N, Houston, TX 77095, on Sunday, August 17th, 2025, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.
