

On April 11, 2019, James Kenneth Moran (Pops), who was 73 and from Huffman, entered eternal peace. Pops was born in Houston, TX on September 2, 1945 and graduated from MB Smiley High School. Pops was married to Patricia Inez Moran (Nana) on June 26, 1964. Pops worked at Houston Police Department until October 11, 1985 and retired to continue pursuing his hobby, which was the local sports association in Huffman. Along with being a critical part of Huffman Sports Association, he spent many years on the school board for Huffman ISD. However, after he got off of the school board, he continued working with the youth of Huffman at Huffman Sports Association up until his last day.
Pops was survived by his wife Patricia Inez Moran, daughter Sheri Lynn Eddlemon husband Kevin Eddlemon, and son James Keith Moran wife Suzanne Michelle Moran. His grandchildren, Curtis Gene Wilson Jr. wife Samantha Ann Wilson, Dustin Baker wife Brittany Baker, Harley “Scooter” Burke wife Tabitha Burke, James Tyler Wilson, James Kody Moran, Emily Elizabeth Wilson, Katy Nicole Moran, Kasey Olivia Moran, Hannah Michelle Moran, Heather Ann Moran, and his great grandchildren, Eli Baker and Felicity Reign Burke. Survived by beloved pets, Beau Tossin ‘n’ Turnin Moran, and Girly Moran, along with great granddogs Sophie, Rufus, Otis, and Leroy J. Gibbs. He is also survived by his best advisor whom he treated as a son, and Huffman’s biggest fan, Thomas Childress.
Pops’ parents Mary Moran, and Archie Moran, both preceded his death, along with his brothers Johnnie Moran, and Floyd Moran, and sisters Gertrude Tubbs and Dorothy Brown. He is survived by sisters Joyce Eckler, and Evelyn Woodruff.
