Jim was a mechanical engineer with Bechtel International for two terms, spanning over 25 years. He attended Oklahoma State Technical University, where he studied engineering. Jim’s passions were golf, motorcycles and project cars. He was a true Gearhead. On Sundays you could often find him watching golf and NASCAR while rebuilding his 1972 Chevy C-10 pickup.
Jim was proceeded in death by his mother, Lucille Marie; father Joe Leon; and brothers, Bob and Jay.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Lori Navarro; sister, Helen; son, Shelby; grandson, AJ; great-granddaughter, Maisy; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. John Araujo, M.D. and Stacy Holm R.N. at MD Anderson Cancer Center as well as the doctors, nurses, and associates with Houston Hospice for their wonderful care during Jim’s final days.
In lieu of flowers and cards, the family asks that you donate to “Let’s Fight Cancer Together” through gifts.mdanderson.org. Please donate in memory of James Navarro.
