James W. Owen, born July 3, 1926, went to his heavenly father on December 13, 2010. He is preceded in death by the love of his life 63 years, Lorena E. Owen. Left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Patsy Miller, Milton Owen, and Starlie Irby. James and Lorena had 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother, Paul and five sisters: Faye, Ruth, Grace, Gloria Jean, and Charlotte. He started his career at Texaco, interrupted by two years in the Army and then returned to retire from Texaco after forty years of service. James loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and served as an elder for the 249 Church of Christ for many years. In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations may be made to the Midway church of Christ. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He will be missed by all who knew him.
