Jimmy was a vibrant, caring, man and a devoted and loving husband, son, brother, dog father, uncle, and friend to many.
Jimmy graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baton Rouge, class of 1978, and attended Louisiana State University, where he graduated in 1982 with a degree in accounting. He then moved to Houston, Texas where he worked as an accountant while attending the University of Houston Law School.
Jimmy began his legal career at Baker & Botts but spent much of his career at Targa Resources. Jimmy enjoyed working at Targa immensely. He had a great amount of respect for his work and for his colleagues.
Jimmy was greatly admired by all who knew him both personally and professionally. He was a kind, generous man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Walking Max in the mornings, pizza night with friends, and sitting side by side with Melissa enjoying a nice glass of wine, were just some of the things he was grateful for. Jimmy looked forward to annual hiking trips and visits to California. The hiking crew and those times spent in Colorado were some of the most precious times of his life.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother, Rita. He is survived by his best friend and wife, Melissa; “daughter” Maria; faithful pup Max; father, Jim; and brothers, Alan and Bruce. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that were dear to his heart, as well as his extended family, and wonderful friends.
A memorial service for Jimmy is to be held at one o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 23rd of October, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Road in Houston.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in his name be directed to the Houston SPCA, 7007 Old Katy Rd, Houston, TX 77024; or to the Wounded Warriors Foundation, 4550 Post Oak Place Drive, Suite 100, Houston, TX 77027.
