Janet met her husband, Bob, during high school in Asheville, North Carolina, in 1960. They got married in 1962, during Bob's first year of college at NC State, where Janet supported him throughout his studies.
After college and several moves, including New Jersey, Dallas, Atlanta, and then Chicago, they ended up with their young family in Dallas, Texas, where they remained until their two children, Rob and Kristy, graduated from high school. Many years later, Bob and Janet eventually settled in Houston, Texas, to be closer to Rob and his wife, Thuy, and their children, living in the same neighborhood. They formed a close relationship with Thuy’s family, who also live in the same neighborhood, creating a wonderful, supportive community.
Janet was an avid reader and Bridge player, enjoyed sewing, various crafts, and loved to bake. She will be remembered for being lovingly supportive and very close to her grandchildren, Max and Nicholas.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Robert Scholl Jr.; her son, Robert Scholl III, daughter-in-law, Mong-Thuy Chu, and grandsons, Max and Nicholas; her daughter, Kristy Scholl; and her beloved sister, Elizabeth Graham Maney, with whom she shared a special and close bond.
Janet was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Graham Ayton, and her father, James Howard Maney.
