

Jewell Dale Thomas, Jr., beloved father and brother, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at the age of 68. He was born in Houston, Texas on November 26, 1951 to Jewell Dale Thomas and Ruth (Warman) Thomas.
While growing up in Houston, Dale enjoyed playing baseball as a child and football as a teenager at Westbury High School. He attended college at the University of Texas at Austin and in 1982 became the proud father of his only son, Jonathan.
Dale had a successful career with Brown and Root managing the construction of hundreds of oil rigs in the Persian Gulf and the far east. After 20+ years in the Oil and Gas industry, he returned to Houston to manage his commercial property, which he continued to do until his passing.
Dale was an avid sports memorabilia collector, food critic and dessert connoisseur. He was a world traveler and treasured the mementos he acquired during his adventures.
Dale is survived by his son, Jonathan Dale Thomas of Houston, Texas; two sisters Dr. Susan Lee Thomas and Carolyn Pullen, and one niece, Christina Williamson. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Ruth, and his sister, Cathy Thomas.
The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 4-8pm in the Family Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home and Funeral Service at 10:30am on Friday December 4, 2020 in the Chapel of Chimes in Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
