Jean Allbritton

She graduated from Nevada High School where she was valedictorian and loved all the sports. In 1947 she graduated from the University of Texas with a BBA degree. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed hunting for arrowheads. She loved country western dancing and danced her way across Texas with her friend Leonard Spolyar.

Her career culminated at Texas Instruments where she retired in 1992. She enjoyed working there and she received many awards for her innovative thinking.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edgar and Clara Smith, the 9th child of their 10 children. She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers, Herman, Weldon, E. A. Jr, and Joe Smith and 4 sisters Merle Cole, Ouida Read, Emil Watkins and Ruth Smith.

She is survived by her brother Max Smith and wife Johnie, her daughters: Sharon Allen (Tex), Vickie Dunn, Clara Towsley, and Jo Ellen Halbert (Wayne). She has 9 grandchildren who all adore her: Ashley Hill (Wes), Lacey Robinson (Kelly), Patrick Allen (Ashley), Shelley Shuman (Jason), Doug Towsley (Lanie), Carrie Stewart (Clay), Christopher Steele (Misty), Joseph Anderson (Elizabeth), Ryan Anderson (Catherine). She also has 22 great grandchildren: Kyle, Micah, Carly, and Alyssa Hill, Jaylyn Dennis, Judah and Oakley Allen, Lyla and Logan Shuman, Fischer and Barrett Towsley, Piper and Mason Stewart, Collier and Cash Steele, Isla, Moceley, Brooks and Cam Anderson, Asher, Case and Joseph Anderson and many nieces and nephews. Her 5 grandsons will be the pallbearers.

The visitation will be at Forest Park Westheimer on Tuesday, May 6, 4:00-8:00 pm. A memorial service will be on Wednesday, May 7 at 1:00 pm Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive in the Chapel.
