She spent time volunteering for the Blue Bird Circle, Lighthouse for the Blind, and loved sitting on the inside aisle at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church to watch the choir process. Her favorite past time was spending time with her family. She was quick with a joke, loved to beat us at cards and Rummikub, and had the best memory when it came to Houston and family history.
She is preceded in death by her parents John and Lillian Foster, her husband, Jeral Jo Crowder, who was her dancing partner for 59 years, and her beloved grandson, Jerry Eckles.
Left to treasure her memory and carry on the traditions she so lovingly created are Patty Henry and husband Melton, Sandy Eckles and husband Tom and Tracy Gilbert. Grandchildren Jennifer Ross and husband Kevin, Trent Henry and wife Jennifer, Molly Gilbert, and Kirby Gilbert. Great grandchildren Ellie, Savannah, and Trenton Henry. Nephew and niece Kelly and Katie Coghlan.
Thank you to Houston Hospice for their loving care.
