Jean’s number one priority in her life was her family. They were first and foremost. She was the matriarch and center of our family. Jean loved being a mother and homemaker and was a very loyal friend to all she met.
She was an excellent gourmet cook, loved gardening, loved to read, and was an avid golfer who had five hole-in-ones and was the Woman’s Club Champion at Pine Forest Country Club where she was a long time member.
Jean is predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, the late Anthony L. Vetrano, Jr., with whom she lived a full, exciting and eventful life, including many wonderful trips here, Europe and abroad. She is survived by her children, Patricia Vetrano Sheppard and her husband, Frank, Thomas A. Vetrano, and Jeannine Vetrano Buckner and her husband, Mike. Jean is also survived by her grandchildren, Sheila Sheppard, Stephanie Sheppard Stevenson and her husband, Tony, Gina Buckner and Daniel Buckner; and by her great grandchildren, Jay Stevenson, Sheppard Stevenson, and Max Joseph Stevenson.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six until nine o’clock in the evening on Friday, the 29th of July, in the Library and Grand Foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
A Mass of Christian Burial is to be offered at ten o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 30th of July, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road in Houston, where the Rev. Christopher Nguyen is to serve as celebrant. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent Parish Life Center.
In lieu of customary remembrances, contributions in honor of Jean may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
