With a sad heart I take on the challenge of today. It's been 3 years without Mama. I still hear her voice when she would call me and  say "boy what are you doing ". Well now Missing You!!💔

Today was the hardest  day of my life. I think k of you often, but today somehow hit me the hardest.  I miss you Mama. I'm gone fight the disease to the end, especially for you and Pam. Continue to be our guardian 😇 angel. Rest well mama till that great gettin up morning when God comes to get his righteous ones. ❤  you forever . Carol 


Mama, you are truly missed! I love you with all my heart.  It has not been easy living without you.  I thank God for the memories and the lessons you taught me, especially how to depend on God in these trying times.  You were God’s special gift to us and I enjoyed unwrapping every part of you!

Having two grandmothers who were sisters was the greatest joy of my life. I had the best of both worlds. Something no one in my family could relate to. I felt incredibly blessed and special. I never thought about the fact that my greatest joy would be my greatest heartache. Losing them both was difficult but to know they are together again gives my heart peace. Mama Jean was one of the funniest people I knew. She always had me dying laughing. We have tons of memories, road trips, family games, family conversations, holidays etc. Her grandchildren doted on her so much. She was so strong and fierce. I never could imagine losing her. I will forever love her and remember her and hold all of our times close to my heart. Rest well “Mother” (I loved calling her Mother) and I know you are once again reunited with the best. Being with Pam and Granddaddy makes your death beautiful and peaceful in my heart. I know you could not want anything more. I love you and will carry you with me forever. I’ll see you again! I knew Jean since I was born and count myself lucky and blessed that so much of my childhood is tied to memories of her and her son Kenny.  They both gave a lot of their time and energy to supporting my father, and to me she was like a second mom.  Reading through all the memories of her here I see how the title  "Mama Jean" fits so perfectly.  With a heart of gold, caring for others and supporting them in whatever way she could came so naturally.  She had an innate way of making you feel loved, included and special!
I cherish all of the good times we had together, her infectious laughter, her cooking, and especially how she modeled being an upright person in the world with solid values, faith in God, and love for her family and community.  Now a mom myself, I find myself passing on children rhymes and bits of wisdom she taught me when I was my daughter's age and love that I can share her with them in this way.
To Kenny, and the whole Williams family, heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your beautiful Mama.  She leaves a big gap, but may all the good she did and left behind, all the people she touched and treasured memories of her give strength and bring healing for the days ahead, and help fill in that gap little by little.  
Jean, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love and life you shared.  Now Heaven gets to enjoy your company and laughter as you reunite with all your loved ones who have gone up before you. When you see my dad please give him a big hug from me.

Mrs Carol you have my deepest sympathies, always hearing you speak highly of your mom and all the great story of how she loved cooking, and keeping her family together remind me so much of how my mother was. I want to Thank Mrs Jean for giving birth to the most wonderful complex friend I have and being that Mrs Carol was born on my moms birthday made me love her more because we bumped head, loved and laugh like my mom and I did, Im praying my friend that God give you strength to get pass this day and hold on to the great memories.

Mama Jean …Thank you Lord for Blessing me with a wonderful sweet and caring “Godmother”. You knew just what I needed. Words cannot express the love and affection we shared. I will always  cherish those great memories. Pam was your daughter and my best friend you lost one daughter but gained another. I lost my Mom but gained another one. Give a Big Hug to my Bestie Pam and my Mom❤️ I will truly miss you but I know you have gone to a better place….Rest in Heaven!!!!

I never met Mrs.Williams, I feel as though I had thru conversation with Carol Giles. I have eaten her German Chocolate Cake. The best I ever had. I felt I knew mama Jean. I love Carol as my own and I sending condolences to Carol Giles and Family. Wishing you Peace to bring Comfort and Courage to you in the days ahead and loving Memories to forever hold in your heart.

You were & STILL are a precious gem! Very loyal, caring, and absolutely a devoted wife, mother, grand-mother & etc. You were also my favorite person in this world! Our memories together go way back as far as me being a little girl. I would want to come to your house every weekend to spend the night. I remember some of the shows you’d love to watch, such as; SuperMarketSweep—Touched by an Angel—Walker Texas Ranger 🥰 and of course the daily Soap Opera’s. You had such a kindred spirit who affected so many peoples lives in such a positive way. There wasn’t any recipe foreign or domestic that you couldn’t cook you were like a Chef! I could say so many great things & share so many awesome loving memories but I’d have to write a book 📖 God has called you away from earth his intentions were never meant for you to suffer so I truly believe he needed you for a much grander purpose. You were 88– 88 is an angelic number, so for 88 years god kept you here and called you back! That number represents love which is the most important thing in life! Not only love for others but love for oneself and both forms you truly modeled it, very confident in who you were. Oh how I loved to see you smile & hear your laugh. Although you’re not here on earth our bond can never ever be broken, please tell my mother Pamela Kay hello 🥰😘 I know she’s rejoicing to have you back! Thank you for being you... & thank you for never leaving my side, even while little Emma was being delivered into the world you were right there she loves you too!

Jean was like  family to me. We all  lived on Gunter Strert  and other parts of 5th Ward Texas for many years, and she was  a good  Wife,, Mother, Neighnor and Friend! And most importantly, Sis. Jean is a Child of GOD!

Words cannot express the love she and I shared between us. To my cousins,  she is a great loss to the family but what a legacy of love and faithfulness she leaves with you all.  Praying for the family always!!!

It’s never easy to say goodbye to the ones we love. It is on the other hand easy to say “Thank You Lotd”. I thank you Lord for the precious memories that Mrs. Williams and I shared.  She had  the most  beautiful spirit, one that reminds me of my own mother’s . Ditto to her being one of the best moms on Royal Oaks!!! A Real Mama.  One who could cook, has  values and morals and raised her family.  I will never forget her beautiful smile and her standing with her hands on her hips. Though we only visited maybe once  or twice a year, once we got started talking and catching up  for hours it was just like yesterday. I was always happy to see her because she was ALWAYS  happy to see me.  Ms. Williams was my neighbor and my friend and I will truly miss her, Again Thank You Lord for the special times that we we able to share. Rest well….sweet Angel. Rejoice with your baby girl Pam, Mr Williams and all of your loved ones that have gone on before you.  Heaven’s got a good one! Miss you girl.

I came to know Mama Jean through her grandson, Darren. Her sense of humor, warmth, dedication to her family and of course–her food–made getting to know her a joy and a blessing. I will forever be grateful for her kindness and inclusiveness. She was a wonderful towering matriarch. I pray for the peace and comfort of her family.
