

Jennie Badeen Farah, of Sugar Land, Texas died on Monday, July 5, 2010. She was born in Krebs, Oklahoma on July 5, 1910 and was the daughter of John and Farida Badeen of McAlester, Oklahoma. Jennie married Shookry Farah of Damascus, Syria in 1929 where they lived until his death in 1969, shortly after she returned to the U.S. where she eventually resided in Sugar Land, TX.
Jennie is survived by a daughter, Mounia Siada; and three sons, Mounir, Riad, and Hani Farah; her 23 grand and great-grandchildren; and 21 nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brothers, Dr. Louis Badeen of Kansas City, and Fr. John Badeen of Beaumont, TX. and Fouad and Vivian Badeen of Damascus, Syria. Jennie was a member of St. George Orthodox Church in Houston, Texas.
A visitation will be held from 5 until 7 PM on Thursday, July 8, 2010 followed by Trisagion service at 7 PM at St. George Church, 5311 Mercer St., Houston, TX. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, July 9, 2010 at St. George Church. A graveside service and committal will follow in Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. George Orthodox Church or to Forty Holy Martyrs of Sebaste Orthodox Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.
