

Jerome Louis Korenek, age 81, passed away at Cypress Woods Nursing home in Angleton on June 13, 2019. He was born Oct. 15, 1937 in Taiton to Emil and Annie (Scotka) Korenek and was the oldest of six children.
Jerome attended El Campo High School from 1952 - 1956 and played on the El Campo Ricebird’s football team. He later entered the Air Force in April 1958 and was enlisted for eight years. Jerome later became a hydraulic engineer and went on to own his own business. Jerome’s special interests and hobbies were woodworking, horses, his dogs and shooting. He left a big impression on all who met him.
He is survived by his second wife, Elizabeth Byrne Korenek and four children from his first marriage to JoAnn Sikora Foehner: Dr. Nancy Korenek Leveque (Andre), Chris A. Korenek (Denise), Phillip K. Korenek (Camille) and Jerri Lynne Roberts (Bill) and four grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Edward Korenek (Roseanne), Lawrence Korenek (Cathy), Junior Korenek (Donna), Dennis Korenek (Carol) and a brother-in-law, Wayne Marek, along with many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. inside the Chapel of American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. The committal service will take place at 11:30 a.m. in the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston Texas 77038, where he will be laid to rest with honors.
