

Jerry Burke Fugler passed away January 30, 2012 in Houston, TX. Jerry was born on March 5, 1948 in Austin, TX, to Malcolm Sr. and Marjorie Fugler. As a young child Jerry’s family moved to Marshall, TX. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1966 and attended both Panola Jr. and Stephen F. Austin colleges. Later with 2 small children and working 2 jobs to support his family he earned degree from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi, TX. Jerry enlisted in the United States Navy in September 1969. He honorably served his country 26 years through times of peace and war and finally retired as a Chief in the Naval Reserve in December 1995. Jerry married Herlinda Perez Trevino of Beeville, Texas on June 7, 1974 and enjoyed more than 37 years together with his bride. Jerry also worked more than 32 years for Southwestern Bell (later subsumed by AT&T) and earned a company retirement in September of 2011. Jerry was preceded in death by his grandparents Lester & Annie Arbuckle and Jesse and Yetta Fugler; parents Malcolm and Marjorie Fugler; his brother Brady Fugler; and his nephew Adam Fugler. He is survived by his wife Herlinda, son Stuart and wife Salina Fugler; son Brian and wife Giselle Fugler; and grandsons Austin Stuart Fugler and Brandon James Munoz. He is also survived by his brother Malcolm Fugler Jr; sister Margie & husband Tom Bueche; sister Laurie and husband Johnny Fyffe; sister Beth and husband Clint Bates; sister Marry Yetta and husband Mike Alexander; brother Jesse and wife Ann Fugler; brother Jimmy and wife Janet Fugler; sister Suzie Ward; brother Jay and Kimberlie Fugler; sister Rachel and husband Thomas Gafford; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Jerry Fugler was born again by God’s grace through Jesus Christ in November of 1997. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. at Westway Baptist Church, 11207 Perry Road, Houston Texas 77064, (281) 881-1474 on Sunday, February 5, 2012. A service will be held 12 p.m., February 6, 2012 at Westway Baptist Church. Burial will be at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston Texas 77038. In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations support the Gospel ministry of Westway Baptist Church.
