Jessalyn Hall Eaton passed away January 25, 2022. She was born in Paducah, Kentucky, to Jess H. Hall Jr. and Millie Brown Hall. She moved to Houston, Texas, at age 10 and graduated from Katy High School. Jessalyn learned to play the piano as a young child and became an accomplished piano player who played the rest of her life. She taught piano lessons to the children of friends and neighbors for over two decades. Jessalyn also played the French horn in the Katy Junior High and Katy High School bands. She loved animals and had many dogs, cats, chickens, and birds as pets. As a teenager, she convinced her father to buy her a horse, and she loved riding it in the Addicks Reservoir near their home.
Jessalyn met her husband, Luke, in Houston. They were married in 1982 and would have enjoyed their fortieth anniversary later this year. After her marriage, she worked in the banking and oil and gas industries until the birth of their first child, Eric, in 1986. Jessalyn then became the Domestic Manager of the Eaton family, a role she happily occupied until her death. Their second child, Adam, was born in 1991. Jessalyn enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom, raising her two sons, and being a grandmother to her four grandchildren. While married, they lived in Houston, New Orleans, and Anchorage, Alaska. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed fixing delicious meals for family and friends. As a lark, while living in New Orleans, she entered a cooking contest and was awarded Second Place for her Creole Cabbage Rolls.
Jessalyn became a Christian at a young age and was a faithful member of the Lord’s church until her passing. She enjoyed teaching third grade Bible class to her young students for over three decades. Jessalyn loved people and never met a stranger. She enjoyed talking with everybody.
Jessalyn is survived by her husband Luke Forrester Eaton, son Eric Forrester Eaton (Kara), and son Adam Ross Eaton Sr. Her grandchildren include Emmalyn Rose Eaton, Adam Ross Eaton Jr., Matthew Forrester Eaton, and Adeline Charlotte Eaton. She is also survived by her mother, Millie Hall, and her brother, Eric Hall (who was the only person she allowed to call her Lyn).
A memorial service will be held on February 12, 2022 at 11:30 AM at the church of Christ in Bridgewater at 21650 Crestbrook Cove Drive in Katy, TX.
