

To his family, Jesse Caesar was a legend. His presence was strong physically, intellectually and spiritually. Those who knew him adored his giant heart as he made others believe they were the only person in the world. Jesse passed away on June 22, 2021 at 89 years old. He loved his family of two daughters, Delane (and her husband John Sykes), Donell (and her husband Karl Marks), five granddaughters, Calder, Emma (and her husband Daniel), Tilly (and her husband Nam), Blythe, Hattie, and great granddaughter, Lucy. Jesse adored his children and grandchildren and also his nieces, nephews and cousins.
Above all, Jesse held high his love and devotion for his high school sweetheart and mother of his children, Cathy Corgey Caesar, his wife for over 56 years. Jesse was born in Fairbanks, Texas to Leo Henry and
Anna Irene Caesar. He was the youngest of four children, sisters Betty and Ruth Ann, and brother Leo, Jr. After graduating Fairbanks High School, he pursued his artistic dreams on a basketball scholarship at the University of Houston. He graduated in 1954. After serving in the Army, Jesse spent the bulk of his
career with McCann-Erickson, one of the world’s largest multinational advertising agencies. As Senior VP and Executive Creative Director, he supervised creative for the agency’s largest corporate clients, including Exxon, McDonald’s and Texas Instruments. He developed a national reputation for the development of the Exxon Tiger as a national icon and several other memorable campaigns. Winner of multiple awards including 4 Clios. Later in life, Jesse’s greatest inspirations were grounded
in his artwork, fishing and bible studies with all his friends at Christ Evangelical Presbyterian Church
