Jesusa "Susie" Herrera Padilla

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Jesusa (Susie) Herrera Padilla, who departed this world Saturday, March 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was deeply devoted to the Lord, her family, and friends, finding joy in their company and their shared bonds of love. For 87 wonderful years, Susie lived anchored in her profound faith, embodying the teachings of Christ in her daily actions. She instilled these values in her children, creating a meaningful legacy that will guide them on their spiritual journeys. While we grieve her departure, we take comfort in knowing she lived a long and fulfilling life. As described in Proverbs 31:10-31, she truly exemplified the qualities of a virtuous woman, reflecting the beautiful essence of these verses in every aspect of her life.

Susie is survived by her devoted husband, Santiago (Jimmy) Padilla; her four sons, Jimmy Padilla (spouse Noo), Joe Padilla (spouse Geraldine), Lawrence Padilla (spouse Tammy), and Robert Padilla (spouse Angela); her two daughters, Lisa Gann and Rebecca Cerda (spouse Jose); 13 grandchildren, Jessica Smith (spouse Daniel), Jimmy Padilla Jr (spouse Laura), Kaitlyn Crawford (spouse Daniel), Sarah Bates (spouse Nathan), Sally Frank (spouse Josh), Sasha Henderson (spouse Zach), Anthony Cerda, Annabelle Cerda, Andrew Cerda, Veronica Padilla, Juleianna Padilla, Robert Padilla Jr and Julian Padilla;

17 great-grandchildren, Bailey Smith, Faith Smith, Gabi Vazquez (spouse Owen), Eva Padilla, Gracie Padilla, Rylend Bates, Landon Bates, Kai Crawford, Nakoa Crawford, Shaylee Frank, Sydnee Frank, Saydee Frank, Owen Henderson, Ella Henderson, Nora Henderson, Mia Henderson, and Vera Henderson; and 2 great great- grandchildren Michael Smith and Caspian Vazquez along with numerous extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Eulalio and Adela Herrera, 11 siblings, son-in-law Eric Gann, one great-grandson Wyatt Henderson and numerous extended family members who cherished her dearly.

We are profoundly grateful for your prayers and support during this challenging time for our family and all who loved her. We feel truly blessed to have had Susie in our lives, and she will be deeply missed.

A visitation for Jesusa will be held Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. A celebration of life will occur Friday, March 21, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. A committal service will occur Friday, March 21, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077.
