

On January 20, 1947, Jimmy Robert DeWalt, was born in Houston, Texas to the late Major DeWalt Sr. and Mildred A DeWalt. A strong believer in Christ, he attended Willing Workers B.C. later moving his membership to Zion Star Missionary Baptist Church where he became a deacon under the leadership of the Late Pastor Frank DeWalt Sr.
Jimmy enlisted in Job Corp where is he learned the trade of Diesel Mechanics. Jimmy retired from the Port of Houston September of 2013. In 1974 Jimmy married his soulmate Classie “Sally” Daniels. *He was a devoted husband and loving father whom he taught and showed his children the true meaning and values of family. Jimmy loved his family and took pride in his grandchildren.
His love for building, repairing, and racing cars was his passion.
Jimmy transitioned to his heavenly home January 9, 2025, though he fought vigilantly till the end.
Jimmy preceded in death by his wife Classie DeWalt, parents Major Dewalt Sr. and Mildred A. Dewalt, siblings Virginia Rae Cook Turner, Major Dewalt Jr., Mayme Louise Cook Aycock, Otis DeWalt, Frank M. DeWalt St. Son-in-Law George Lathom, Baby Eryn Kai Morris and Baby Halo Jaie Washington. Jimmy leaves behind his children: Sharon Craft (Frank) Aver Lathom, Geneva Morris (Wendell) Beverly Morris (Calvin Sr) Aneatric Thomas (Marcus), and Anthony Partner. Sibling: Myrdes J Lee, 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.
