

Jimmy Felix Plander (Jim) passed away December 23, 2015. He was born in Pasadena, Texas on July 23, 1923. He served his country in the Pacific campaign during World War 2 as a Corporal in the Army Air Corp. Jim retired from Cameron Iron Works after thirty years of service. He was a life member of VFW10352 and a charter member of American Legion 578. He served on the District 4 Ceremonial Detail for over 28 years and served as commander during part of that time.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Doris Plander, his son, Jimmy Dean Plander, and his four brothers. He is survived by his daughter, Betty Plander Hampton and husband, Roland of Austin Texas. Jim had 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Miller and husband David, Janna Parker and husband Chris, Jamie Cox and husband, Garrett, Stephanie Chism and husband Greg, and Channel Williams and husband, Tommy. He had 14 great-grandchildren, Jordan Rummel and husband, Ryan, Weston and Korbyn Maze, Tatum Williams, Cody, Hunter, and Tyler Dean Chism, Collin and Connor Miller, Tye Frnka, Katelyn and Claire Cox, Hanna and Hayden Parker.
Funeral Services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039 in the Family Chapel at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 28, 2015. Grave side service will be at the Houston National Cemetery Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 10:00 AM.
