Joanna Devine

Joanna was born on September 14, 1940 in Corpus Christi, Texas to parents Ruth and Emmett Stroman. Her father died in a car accident one day before Joanna was born. Joanna grew up in Beeville, Texas, then moved to Austin, Texas with her family during her later high school years. She graduated from Austin High School and attended Sam Houston State University.

Joanna was a successful realtor/broker in the Galveston/Houston area for most of her working life.

Joanna is survived by her son, Calvin E. McKinney; grandson, Chase Smith; brother, Royce Roberts and wife Karen; and sister, Susan Roberts, also by nephews Scott Roberts and wife Carla and Brice Roberts and wife Marigny; nephews Walker, Braden, Chase and Heath and niece Riley. and many beloved cousins and friends. Joanna was preceded in death by her son Julian Craig Adoue McKinney and daughter Janan McKinney; also by her mother Ruth Roberts and stepfather Royce Roberts, Sr.

Joanna lit up the world with her gorgeous smile, her lively spirit, delightful personality and generosity to friends and family. Joanna's zeal for life and great sense of humor were a blessing to us all.

The family would like to thank Joanna's dear friends who loved and cared for her. We would like to express a sincere gratitude to the Faulk Foundation, which has the mission to support families facing challenges in their lives.

Services and reception will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 4pm at Forest Park Funeral Home and Cemetery,12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077.
