Joaquin was born on June 01, 1986, to Joaquin Alvarez and Delmy Salgado. After Joaquin graduated from Cypress Falls High School in 2004, he went on to study his college core curriculum classes at Cypress Fairbanks Community College, soon after he continued his studies in Drafting & Design at ITT Technical Institute. While completing his high school and collegial studies Joaquin worked full-time jobs; his first as a server, later in construction and then as a bank teller. His hard-working ethics from a very young age came naturally.
After graduating in 2009 with a degree in Drafting & Design, Joaquin started his professional career with Burns & McDonnell as a drafter, ambitiously kickstarting a 13-year career with the company and ultimately becoming an Electrical Substation Designer with a role as an Assistant Project Manager in Transmission and Distribution (a division within Burns & McDonnell).
Joaquin and Orkidia have known each other since fifth grade (he would even argue second grade); they dated in their twenties and were married in 2012. Joaquin was a devoted husband and Godfather for 11 years- plus a loving Fur Daddy to Emy for four years and Fuchsia for one year and a half.
Joaquin was blessed with an array of knacks in multiple trades from automotive mechanics to construction and carpentry. He was a multifaceted talented and hard-working young man that loved mastering all his skills, especially when it involved the care of his family, household, and professional career. He was truly a master of his own life, and it proved as such in his life. In his pass time he enjoyed spending time with friends and family, gardening, landscaping, watching sports and automotive television shows, and even watched Home & DIY Network shows.
Joaquin was loyal to his comradery and even acquaintances- he valued all his relationships that he made with care, love, attention, and enjoyed sharing his wisdom. As a result, his legacy of strength, love, and fruit of all his labor will always live in our hearts.
Joaquin Alvarez, Jr. was predeceased by his loving mother Delmy Salgado, Uncle Hugo Moris Salgado, Uncle Fernando Salgado, Grandmother Emma Salgado, Grandfather Bonifacio Alvarez-Velasquez “Papa Facho”. He is survived by his wife Orkidia Alvarez, Father Joaquin Alvarez, Brother Edwin Alvarez, and sister Johanna Alvarez.
- Joaquin and Family are grateful for honoring and continued respect of his wishes of living a private life.
