

Joe (J.T) Thomas Jacobs, Jr., 78, of Houston, TX, passed away on February 18, 2018. He was born on December 19, 1939 in Texas City, TX to Claudia and Joe Thomas Jacobs, Sr. and was one of nine children. There was never a dull moment being part of a large family. Everyone had stories to tell and most of them were about J.T.
J.T dropped out of school but was very ambitious to go back and graduated from San Jacinto with his wife and two sons who attended his graduation. He then went to complete 2 years of college.
He worked for WKM for 18 years as a machinist and eventually became a supervisor. He left the company to open up his own company ‘Jacobs Oilfield’ in the 80’s when the oilfields crashed. J.T moved his office home and continued to do business until he became ill.
J.T had a passion for all sports and especially was a fan of the Texans and Astros. He enjoyed horse racing and at one time he had 21 horses. He was a Lifetime member of HLSR, Shriners and the 100 Club of Houston.
He was preceded in death by son Lloyd Jacobs, parents Claudia & Joe Thomas Jacobs, Sr., daughter-in-law Susan Jacobs, sisters; Betty, Ruby & Edna and brothers Harold & Claude.
J.T is survived by his wife Barbara Jacobs, sons James Jacobs and Joe Thomas III (Tommy) Jacobs & wife Rennae, grandchildren; Leann Jacobs, Joshua Herrera , Joe Thomas IV., & wife Deborah, Jerel Jacobs & wife Amanda, Becky Smith & husband Caleb, great grandchildren; Joe Thomas V & Wyatt Jacobs, James & Kelcie Lewis, Wade Durham, Kaydee & Kaycee Smith, Lloyd & Jesse Jacobs, Ezra Herrera, sisters; Bea & husband John Rouse, Pasty Harrington and brother Donald Jacobs and wife Janet.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to our friends and family as well as from Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care for all their support.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. Funeral service will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home with a committal service at 11:00 am and a reception to follow.
