Joe was born on February 5,1963 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Billy Joe and Marjorie McDuffie.
Joe graduated from Nacogdoches High School Class of 1981 and was a proud alum of Stephen F. Austin University.
Joe had a long and distinguished career as a leader at Fidelity Investments spanning over 33 years. His career evolved from Branch Manager in Minnesota, to Regional Manager in Chicago, and most recently as a Market Leader in Houston. During his tenure at Fidelity, he made an enormous impact on so many colleagues and clients with his kindness and trustworthiness. Joe’s career was something he took great pride in and loved being able to make things happen.
Joe’s proudest role was that of Husband and Father - always referring to himself as very lucky. His family and friends knew Joe to be fiercely loyal. While Joe could have a gruff exterior at times, he was known to have a heart of gold – one of the many things that made him so special.
Joe is survived by his wife of 30 years – Susan, Son – Jack, Daughter – Caroline, Aunt & Uncle – Harold & Ann Rider of Carthage, Cousins – Toni her husband Charles Layton of Nacogdoches, Several Brothers & Sisters-in-Law and 22 nieces & nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his Parents, Sister & Brother-in-Law – Patti & Charles Fougerousse, Grandparents – Ellis & Fernada Rider and Herman & Adabelle McDuffie.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to Autism Speaks, The Briarwood School, and/or The Celebration Company at JFS Houston.
