

The family of Joe Ann Rose is saddened to announce her passing on July 22nd, 2025. Joe Ann was born in Houston, Texas, fourth of four children to Wallace and Phoebe Kirby Rose.
She was high-spirited, very enthusiastic, and was liked by everyone who crossed her path. Her quest of life began early. At age 10, Joe Ann accepted Christ as her savior, under the leadership of Reverend ML Price, where she sang in the youth choir. She volunteered at different hospitals as a “Candy Striper”, where she assisted the nursing staff with elderly patients.
She worked at the YMCA: Blue Triangle Head Start program, where she assisted in various capacities. She attended Kashmere High School, where she was a part of the student council and marched with the Kashmere Rams drill squad. After graduating from high school, she attended Prairie View University in Prairie View, Texas. She worked and retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
After retiring, she traveled and spent a lot of precious time at the Rose Family Ranch in Hempstead, Texas, but unfortunately, her health began to decline. On July 22nd, she passed away to join her son, Corey Tron Miller, along with her parents, Wallace and Phoebe Rose, and other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who had preceded her in death.
Left to mourn her departure from earth are her brothers: Wayne Rose/ Jackie, Oscar Rose/Lois, Sister: Amelia Rose Peterson, Leigh “Nikki” Peterson, and many nieces and nephews as follows: Zion Peterson, Caleb Comier, Joshua Comier, Malcolm Fisher, Wayne Rose Jr., Teeba Rose, La Tonya Willrich, Monica Caldwell, Tewanna Rose, Sharen Rose, Erma Norvell, Marian Rose, Lawrence Ray Norvell, Rochell Rose, Sheila Boakes, Charles Boakes, Elaine Kirby, Kelvin Kirby, Connie Yell, Teresa Richard, Brady Barrs, Ronnie Barrs and aunts Hersey Allen and Charlotte Bean along with many other cousins and friends including her best friends, William and Walter.
Per Joe Ann’s request, her body will be buried in the Rose family plot at Paradise Cemetery.
