Johanna was born in The Netherlands on July 6th 1937. Her teenage years were filled with early adventures such as exploring youth hostiles across Holland on her bike. Her taste for adventure and her spirit to explore brought her to the United Sates. Shortly after her arrival in the U.S.she met her true love Klaas. They were married on January 23rd, 1959 in Brooklyn, NY. Klaas promised to stand by her side for the rest of her life and that is exactly what he did. Together they travelled across the Untied States exploring Colorado, North Dakota, Tennessee and finally New Jersey where they settled down to raise their family and where they built a life that most could only dream of having.
Johanna made her home warm and inviting. She filled it with beautiful Dutch traditions. She loved to prepare Dutch holiday treats and celebrate Sinterklass with shoes by the fireplace. Her home was decorated with Delft Blue plates hanging on the walls, wooden shoes by the fireplace and loving touches and memories of Holland everywhere.
When the kids were grown, Johanna and Klaas moved to Bradenton, Florida where they retired and spent their golden years in the beautiful warm Florida sunshine. As age began to make life a little harder they moved to Missouri City, Texas and enjoyed their last years near family and grandchildren.
Johanna is survived by her five children John Lindemulder and his wife Pat, Trudy Leidich-Nelson and her husband Dan, Bill Lindemulder, Johanna Lindemulder, Richard Lindemulder and his wife Carla, and her two sisters Ria and Trudi. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Klaas Lindemulder, her parents Geertruida and Willhelmus Kleijn and her two brothers Jan and Tom.
Johanna loved her family more than anything in this world and cherished the time she could spend with her nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter, Jennifer, Christine, Michelle, Melanie, Joshua, Matthew, Shelby, Jack, Daniel and Charlotte.
Our family is so grateful for the life that Mom and Pop gave us with the morals and family values that they instilled in our hearts and minds. It is so hard to say goodbye to our dear mother, will miss her smile, her love of family and just hearing her voice over the phone saying “nothing really new going on today”.
We take comfort in knowing that Mom and Pop are together again and are in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. Until we hug each other again Mom, we love you!
