

John B. Garcia was called home to be with God on Saturday morning , November 24, 2012 surrounded by family in his last days after a year long of hard fought battle of advanced dementia. John was a dignified, simple person who was caring and generous to others. John always accepted what the Lord gave to him to handle and never complained. From his childhood and into his adulthood, he spent his days picking cotton in the fields of Texas. He always was a hard worker. A cornerstone of his life included his faith, his family, children and grandchildren. He was a man of the Lord who always thanked God for the blessings he received. He loved his mother dearly and was her caretaker for a number of years. John deeply cared for his children and taught them to treat others as you would be treated. His devotion to his children and grandchildren will always be with them. John was a humble person and touched many people's lives by his gratitude and respect of others. He is proceeded by death: Joseph Garcia, Sr., father; Angelica Baldobino Garcia, mother,Andrea Garcia Abad, sister.
Survivors include SMSgt. John Garcia, Jr., (USAF) (Ret.) son; Victoria Eloisa Garcia, granddaughter; Nicholas Alexander Garcia, grandson,Leticia B. Carralez, daughter and husband David Carralez, Margo Denise Escobar, daughter, Joseph Garcia, Jr., brother and wife Polly Garcia, Francis Ostigin, sister and husband Jim Ostigin. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Brookside Funeral Home on Lauder with a prayer service at 7:30 PM. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 28, 2012 at Brookside Funeral Home with Chaplain Mack Prayton officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
