John Brewster Jr.

John Brewster Jr., 82 of Katy, TX passed on to the Lord September 22, 2014. John was born November 2, 1931in Mercedes, TX to John R. Brewster and Cora McVey-Brewster. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1971 as a Sargeant after 20 years of service. He served during the Korean War, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and Vietnam.

On April 14, 1961, he married Nancy Snyder of South Bend, IN. She survives him after 53 loving years of marriage. He is also survived by his children, Cora Lynn Bock, of Katy, TX, James Lewis Brewster, of New Orleans, LA, John Patrick Brewster, of Simonton, TX, Ellen Janelle Jasso, of Katy, TX, Mary Frances DuBois of Houston, TX, his 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. His is also survived by his siblings, Willie Brewster, of Austin, TX, Lewis Brewster, of Houston, TX, Jimmy Brewster, of Houston, TX, Cora Reyes of Austin, TX, Emily Brewster of McAllen, TX, and Hilda Brewster of McAllen, TX. Deborah Ann Chapa, his daughter, and Sam Brewster, his brother, proceeded him death.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 25th at 10 AM at Brookside Funeral Home at 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston TX 77095. It will be officiated by Pastor Stephen Kelly of Covenant Lutheran Church. A full military honor service is planned for a later date at Houston National Cemetary.
