John Arthur Carwile, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at the age of 69, due to Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease. Born on May 10, 1955, in Houston, John was the son of the late James Leroy Carwile and Eloise Jean Carwile.
John married the love of his life, Glenda Hathorn Carwile, on April 4, 1975. Together they built a life grounded in faith, love, and devotion to family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James Leroy Carwile, Jr., his daughter Jennifer Jean Carwile (forever 15), and his son-in-law Thomas Castleschouldt.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Carwile; children, Amanda Castleschouldt, Jason Carwile (Rachael), and Stacy Brown; and his cherished grandchildren, Jackson Carwile, Jennifer Brown, Luke Brown, and Evelyn Rasberry.
John was a man of many achievements, each a testament to his dedication and integrity. A proud graduate of The University of Texas, John earned his Doctorate of Jurisprudence and dedicated his career to serving others through the law. He was an Eagle Scout, DeMolay, Mason, and a man of deep integrity who never hesitated to lend a helping hand.
John found great joy in sailing, working with his hands, and fixing anything in need of repair-especially if it meant helping someone else. His steady presence, wise counsel, and kind heart will be missed by all who knew him.
A visitation for John will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral will occur Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A graveside will occur Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
