John C. Crain Sr.

1933-2015

John Carmon Crain Sr. was called home to the Lord on Monday, August 10th, 2015, after an ongoing battle with heart disease. He was born in Sikes, Louisiana, on October 18, 1933. After High School, he enlisted in the Navy, in 1948. After the Navy, he moved to Houston, Texas where he met the love of his life, Carol Rabe. The couple was married 47 years. For over 20 years he served the Houston community as a Barber, and Owner of Merchant Park Barber Shop. He spent the next years, as a business owner in the oil & gas industry. John served the Lord, as a Deacon at Baptist Temple, and enjoyed coaching little league teams at I.D.C.. John was also a long time member of the Rotary Club, and the S.P.J.S.T Lodge, #88. He is survived by his sister, Bernadine Hyde, his two children, Johnny Crain and Tamela Crain,; daughter-in-law, Renee Crain, and two wonderful grandchildren, Kristin, and Nicole Crain; along with a host of family and friends.

Friends are invited to visitation with the family from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, August 14, 2015, at Pat H. Foley Funeral Directors. A celebration of life service will be held at Pat H. Foley Funeral Directors in The Chapel of The Garden with Pastor Bass officiating 3:00pm, Saturday August 15, 2015. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Garden of Memories.
