John Henry Daspit, Jr., 73, of Houston passed away June 11, 2014, surrounded by family. He was born in New Iberia, Louisiana on September 30, 1940 to the late John and Myrtle Daspit. He graduated from Abbeville High School and later received Bachelor’s degrees from USL and LSU in chemistry, biology, and physics. He was married to Linda Stidder on July 6, 1976 in Los Angeles, California for 27 years. John is survived by his four children: John, David, and Jennifer of Houston; Stephen of Austin; and two grandchildren: Hailey, age 9, and Brayden, age 1 week, and his two sisters: Joyce Fontenot and Sandra Pittman.
His funeral will take place on June 21 at 12:30 p.m. at Memorial Oaks, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079.
