

John Jay Jordan, Sr. was called home to be with the Lord on February 27th at the age of 66. He was born on September 17, 1946 in Houston. He is survived by his children Jay and Yolanda Jordan in Houston, Joey and Suzanne Burkhalter in Elgin, and Adam and Tammy Taylor in Katy, his grandchildren Josh Jordan, Erica Jordan, Matthew Jordan in Houston, Emily Taylor and Natalie Taylor in Katy, his sisters Jean Marburger in Houston and Judy Jordan in Splendora and other numerous special family members such as aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents George W. and Minnie M. Jordan, his wife Betty Jean Jordan, his brother George W. Jordan, Jr. and his sister Joan Alexander. John loved his family and friends and took much pride in all of his grandchildren. John has touched many lives and will be remembered in many ways but mostly for always being there for his family and friends and the love he had for them. He never met a stranger and never passed up an opportunity to help someone out. John was in the Armed National Guard for 6 years and he worked over 20 years at Phillips Petroleum before retiring and always worked electrical side jobs as well. He worked for Clarke Reynolds Electric and Ivey Electric. John was a man who always stayed busy. He was married to Betty Jean Johnson Jordan for over 24 years. His hobbies included golf, fishing, and hunting. He enjoyed spending time with his sister and brother in law on their land in Centerville, TX. He loved motorcycles and owned several in his life. He loved having barbeques and Elgin’s Southside Sausage. He will be missed and forever stay in our heart.
