On Tuesday November 10th, John McGlamery went to be with the Lord, our Heavenly Father. John was a generous and loving husband, father and grandfather and a friend to many. His 80 years of life and 60 years of marriage were filled with travel and excellence in his pursuits, and he has left us with beautiful memories of his spirit and humor. He served dutifully in the United States Air Force as a photo-radar interpreter in Tucson, Arizona, and enjoyed SCUBA, golf, woodworking and traveling during his long life.
A graduate of Sunset High School and Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janet McGlamery, his son Raymond McGlamery, grandchildren Jackson, Brooke, Justin and Giuliana, great-grandchildren Aidan, Emma and Micah and son-in-law Phillip Portugal. He is predeceased by his daughter, Lori Portugal, who passed away on Christmas Day, 2011.
Visitation and memorial services will be held beginning at 9am on Sunday, July 15th at Forest Park Funeral Home at 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX.
