John Lee Nesmith, Sr.

John Lee Nesmith, Sr. passed away on March 18, 2016. He was born on September 7, 1945 to parents Homer Walter and Mary Jaso Nesmith in Houston, Texas. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend that will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Phyllis Lock Nesmith; children: John Lee Nesmith, Jr. and his wife Gabriela, Julie Marie Branam and her husband Jeff and Brenda Kay Cos and her husband Stephen; grandchildren: Kayla Marie Riffe, Kristin Brooke Riffe, Hannah Leigh Nesmith, Chelsea Michae Cos-Hyde, Chase Anthony Cos, Scott Aaron Mittelstedt and Sierra Nicole Branam; great-grandchildren: Jayce Cooper Riffe, Cecily Marie Hernandez, Makenzie Brook Riffe and John Charles Hyde III; brothers: Rudy Diaz, Homer Nesmith, Jr., and Melvin Nesmith; sister Norma James and numerous nieces, nephew and a host of friends. John is preceded in death by his parents; son Steven Wade Nesmith; and brother Morris Nesmith.

The family will receive friends for visitation Monday, March 21, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Grand Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 21, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home in the Grand Chapel followed by a burial at Brookside Memorial Park & Cemetery.
