John L O'Connor

John L. O’Connor, 70, was born on July 20, 1941, to Lawrence R. and Virdian Burrows O’Connor. He passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012. A second generation Houstonian, John attended St. Thomas High School and the University of Notre Dame. He worked as a stockbroker for 46 years and the following the stock market was one of his hobbies. John also enjoyed cheering for all of grandchildren in their sports endeavors.

John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathleen C. O’Connor; son, Timothy L. O’Connor and wife, Kari; daughter, Constance O’Connor Klenke and husband Allan; grandchildren, Caroline O’Connor, Shannon, Collin, Mary Kathleen, Creigh Patrick, Bridget, Maeve Margaret and Quinn Klenke; his wife’s siblings, Michael and Susan Cashman, Mary Ellen and Karl Klanke; Jim and Carol Cashman, Terry and Bernie Cashman, Betsy and John Day; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Hunters Creek Chapel of Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024, with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc Drive, Houston, Texas 77024. A private burial will be held at a later time.

In lieu of floral offerings, memorial contributions can be made to the University of Notre Dame Scholarship Program and the St. Thomas High School Scholarship Program.
