

She was born in Luling, Texas on June 24, 1926. She was married to Walter E. Hall for over 50 years until his passing in December of 1997. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara J. Barber as well as her parents Eva Holmes and Calvin Wilkins and all of her sisters and brothers. She was survived by her son, Jackie R. Hall (Mary J. Hall), her granddaughters Jacqueline H. Tate and Melissa L. Pfertner (Jim E. Pfertner) and her great grandchildren Matthew R. Tate, M. Ryan Tate, Hayley L. Pfertner and Hannah G. Pfertner. In addition, she is survived by many friends that she considered family, including but not limited to Lori, Ed & Paige LaVoy, the Clayton’s and their amazing children, Wendy & Maria Woods, Mary Jopplin, Karen Van Trunk and so many others…
She was a devoted Christian, and attended services at Graceview Baptist church. Johnie had a multitude of hobbies and interests, but her favorite role was housewife and homemaker to her children and grandchildren. She was an amazing cook that hosted many holiday dinners for her friends and family throughout the years.
In addition, she was a talented artist, creating works of art that are on display in her home, and in the homes of others. She loved spending time outdoors, taking such pride in creating a beautiful landscape for all to admire. Because of her hard work, she won “Yard of the Month” numerous times. Lastly, she was an extraordinary seamstress making beautiful clothes for her family, which resulted in many fashion shows! She also designed and created beautiful curtains, bedspreads, and was a talented upholsterer.
The viewing and funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Brookside Funeral Home-Champions located at 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068. The viewing will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM and the funeral service will begin at 12:30 PM.
