Johnnie served God until the Lord called her home. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. She was the president of the choir she taught Sunday school and was the treasurer of the church. She was the lead singer of a group called the Gospel Soldiers. She sang to the Lord all of her life even in her last days. The nurses would say” is she saying something?” And I would tell them no she is singing to the Lord. And when she couldn't sing she hummed to the Lord. If you were around her she would let you know that she loved you and would ask for a kiss. Her joy was her family. Always telling them how to live right. To serve God. To give your life to him. To love and respect everyone. She said I can teach you how to love but I cant teach you how cruel the world can be. She was a person who always left a lasting impression on your mind and heart. She would tell you the truth whether you liked it or not. No sugar coating. To her daughters she would say” Leave something to the imagination be a lady.” And to her sons she would say “Don't go making babies everywhere!!” We never missed a meal. Everyone loved her cooking. She told us to always look out for one another. To stay close. She said always pray for all of my family, And hope that we all meet again in heaven.
