Johnny "Juan Amado" Calzada

Johnny Calzada 75, passed on Thursday, February 22, 2024, peacefully. Johnny (Mr. C) was born March 31, 1948. He is survived by his wife, Kim Calzada; his children, Cindy Baylor, Diana Garza, and Joshua Benoit; his grandchildren, Caley and Cameron Baylor and Joshua Benoit Jr.; his mother, Petronila Rojas; and his siblings, Alicia Wyre, and Joe Calzada; He is predeceased by his father, Amado Calzada; and his brother Henry Calzada.

Johnny was a self-made person starting his first business when he was 26 and his second business when he was 32. He was adventurous and loved to try new things. One of his favorite things to do was offshore fishing. He loved to fish and take others out to fish. It put a smile on his face to see others get so excited when they caught a large fish. Dancing was his second love. He was an excellent dancer. When out dancing he never missed a step. He loved shooting pool and gatherings of family and friends. He married his first wife, Ophelia Dela Rosa in 1965. Divorced in 1981. He married his second wife, Kim Benoit in 1985. They were partners in love and life, as well as best friends until his death. Johnny was always helping people. For a few years, he would take money deep into Mexico to hand out to the poor. When he made a friend, you were a friend for life. Johnny had a certain magnetism and was loved by everyone he met. There was never a dull moment with Johnny. He will be dearly missed by many.
