Still am shocked at his passing. He was a great person and I truly enjoyed having the honor of teaching him orchestra at MCHS for four years. He is missed. 



Jon Michael Zepeda, you don’t know me because we’ve never met.  Maybe one day we would have.  But we’re cousins by blood and family in heart. 
I’ve been reading all the beautiful words friends or maybe even family have been commenting.  Although I am much older than you, I feel like 
it would have been an honor to have met you, my loss.  Those that did know you, have great  memories of you that they shared.  One day we’ll all be together again and then that’s when I’ll get to meet you.

I am the youngest daughter of the late Manuel Muñoz Sr. (CAT) & Sara Muñoz, which is your Grandma Alice’s Uncle & Aunt.

O Lord, we call upon You in our time of sorrow, that You give us the strength and will to bear our heavy burdens, until we can again feel the warmth and love of Your divine compassion. Be mindful of us and have mercy on us while we struggle to comprehend life's hardships.

The Collins Family 

I’ve known Jon since Ms. Mazolla’s 3rd grade class. Jon has always been the class clown, making us (including his teachers) laugh. He was always in my cul de sac at Barkers Ridge hanging out with my neighbor (Ben Amaro) and their other close friend (Austin Inzer).  I’ll never forget this time we were riding the school bus in 5th grade. We were being reckless kids, and we tore up a notebook we found on the bus. It was later reported to the Schmaltz principal. Jon ended up taking the blame with another student who agreed to say I had no part in the act (even though I definitely did). He saw how upset I was at being in trouble and he readily took the blame for me. We had classes together in junior high and high school as well. The last time I saw him, we went out in Midtown Houston with other friends from high school. I’ll always have fond memories of Jon. 

I remember me and Jon would meet up at Lady bird Johnson park and he would go skate I remember just watching him and the whole time he had a smile on his face and that’s what he did for me every time we we’re together he had a smile on my face he was always goofy I hate that I never even bothered to text him for a couple of years and this happens… Love you Zapooty we all do 

I had the honor to teach Jon in the MCHS orchestra for many years. I always could count on him and he added a fun spirit and energy to the class. He was a talented violist and lead for many concerts. A gentle soul- his contributions to life will be savored while those we miss from his future will leave a hole. I will miss you friend.

I had the pleasure of playing football with Jon at Mayde creek high school. I’m completely lost for words and I want to send prayers to the family. He was an awesome guy and a great teammate and was extremely loved by everyone. Always laughing .always smiling . Fly high brother. Fly high you will be missed -Jeremy price

My fellow cosmic traveler, the brightest lights burn the hardest and you were undeniably the brightest. Time stopped when you walked into a room. Your presence, intellect, humor, goofiness and most importantly your big heart made us keep our eyes on you. 

We’d talk for hours, about things only Jon and Brian could discuss and there was never a dull moment/conversation. 

I know, right now, the sun is shining on your face, and the wings of destiny have carried you aloft to dance among the stars. 

Jon, I will miss brotha. From this life to the next, I love you.


My earliest memories with Jon was playing football with him on the Bears little league football team. We continued to be teammates throughout high school and attended the same college as well. Jon was such a talented athlete I remember how much we would punch each other to be better.  

The first time I ever played organized basketball I remember being teammates with Jon. He was a very funny and cool person!

I hope you know just how loved you really are Jon. All we have are memories to remember you by now and it hurts. We know you’re resting. We know you’re at peace. You will never struggle again & for that I am happy. I hope it’s nice where you are. I hope the sun shines and it’s a beautiful day for you to shred or play your guitar. Please watch over all of us. It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later. 

Such a beautiful soul that I loved to watch grow up. Will miss his smile, laughter and hugs. Praying for you all so much. Love you guys.
