Jose A. Echevarria Sr.

Jose Antonio Echevarria Sr., reunited with his beloved wife, Sylvia, on January 30, 2025. He was born on June 22, 1942, on the small island of Puerto Rico. Welcomed by his parents, Tomas and Maria Echevarria, he lived to be 82 years old.

Jose married Sylvia on July 25, 1966, and they shared 54 wonderful years together, along with many loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Jose is remembered by his four grown children:

• Javier A. Echevarria (deceased) and his wife, Leticia Echevarria

• Marena Fanini and her husband, Pedro Fanini

• Jose A. Echevarria Jr. and his wife, Joseliney Echevarria

• Sol Lorena Sheppard Echevarria

He is also remembered by his 11 grandchildren: Priscilla Echevarria, Chad Echevarria, Gisselle Fanini, Gentrie Fanini, Viridiana Echevarria, Jose Echevarria III, Brittany Echevarria, Jayvier Echevarria, Henry Prado, Justin Dasta, and Tabitha Dasta; as well as 4 great-grandchildren.

No words can truly describe the love shared between Jose and Sylvia. Even after her untimely passing on November 27, 2020, he remained faithful to her. Together, their love filled a home with joy and happiness, creating beautiful memories that will last for generations. Their love was so strong that it continues to live on in the hearts of their ever-growing family.

In his free time, Jose enjoyed fishing and maintaining his 1978 blue Chevy Nova. One thing can be said about him and that car: He maintained it so well that it is worth more today than when he bought it.

Jose was a devoted Christian and a prominent member of Cypress Bible Church. Today, our Lord and Savior welcomes him home as we mourn his departure. We send prayers and love to our beloved mother and father in heaven, knowing that one day, we will all meet again.

Service for Jose Antonio Echevarria will be held at Brookside Cypress Creek Funeral Home, 9149 Hwy 6th north, Houston Texas 77095. The visitation will be February 4th from 5pm till 8pm. The burial will follow the next day on February 5th at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Freeway, Houston Texas 77060 at 1pm.
