Jose David Mejia Zepeda

Jose David Mejia Zepeda, passed away on August 3, 2025, at the age of 59. Born on December 2, 1965, Jose was a resident of Houston, Texas, and was cherished for being a kind-hearted, compassionate, and wise individual.

Jose was a man who took great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved going to the car wash, meticulously ensuring his truck was always clean. His fondness for fruits and seafood, especially oysters, was well known among his family and friends. Above all, Jose cherished his family, finding immense happiness in family gatherings and the moments spent together. His legacy of love and togetherness will continue to inspire and bind his family.

He is survived by his children; Ruth Marisol Melgar, Joselyn Arely Arevalo, Nathaly Ortega-Ordonez, Byron Ortega, and Alan Ortega; his grandson, Cesar Reyes; as well as a host of brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Jose's memory will continue to be a guiding light for his loved ones, who will remember him fondly by his numerous nicknames, but his most treasured was Apa.

Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate his life at the Visitation on August 15, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, located at 7010 Chetwood, Houston, TX. The Funeral Service will be held at the same location on August 16, 2025, at 10:00 am, followed by a Graveside committal at Houston Memorial Gardens, 2426 Cullen Blvd, Pearland, TX, at 12:00 pm.
