Jose Janer Pastrana, age 78, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 30, 2022, in Houston, TX with his family by his side. He was born on March 4, 1944, in Ibagué, Colombia. The son of Alicia Pastrana and Manuel Pastrana. He married the love of his life on January 22, 1966 and was the beloved husband to Gloria Patricia Pastrana for 57 years. Loving Father to son, Francois Janer Pastrana, and daughter, Leslie Tatiana Nucete. Grandchildren Milan Cruz, Sage Pastrana, and Trevor Pastrana. Son-in-law, Diego Nucete and daughter-in-law, Christina Pastrana. His life revolved around his wife, children, and grandchildren; they lit up his world and Jose’s love was endless.
Jose loved playing tennis and ping pong. His passion was traveling, especially to Mexico and Key West, and his love for photography was best seen while traveling. He also enjoyed reading, museums, art, watching the sunset, music, painting, nature, mountains, the beach, animals, and, especially, camping and fishing in the outdoors with his family. His favorite place on earth was the Grand Canyon. He was an avid sports fan, closely following the Dallas Cowboys. Jose was a humanitarian with a servant’s heart and spirit, but enjoyed spending his time with family more than anything. Jose had a huge heart with a kind and gentle soul that touched many lives and loved the Lord above all. He will be greatly missed.
